There are two Catholic Schools in the Campbelltown area; St Thomas More and St Johns, however, both schools are linked to two different Parishes.  St Thomas More is linked to the St Thomas More Parish, Acacia Avenue, Ruse and St Johns is linked to St Johns Parish, Lindsay Street, Campbelltown.  You should make a decision about which school you would like to enrol your child in and enrol in one school only.

Enrolment interviews will be arranged sometime in April or May.  You will receive a letter or phone call during April/May informing you of a time for you and your child to come in and meet with the Principal.  Written offers of placement will follow (late) June.

School Fees at St Thomas More 2018

As per the Enrolment application, enrolment carries an obligation to pay ALL required school fees and levies. Tuition fees and SEDSO levies (School Enhancement and Debt Servicing Obligation) are issued to families three times per year.  A resource fee is issued at the beginning of the school year to each student.  Payment of this resource fee is required as soon as possible in Term 1 to cover the cost of resources for the children. Costs of excursions/swimming programs etc will be charged separately throughout the year.

Fees paid by direct debit or B-Pay can be paid over 52 weeks of the year rather than 40.2 school weeks, reducing the amount of your weekly/fortnightly or monthly payments if preferred.

Some additional charges may apply from time to time.  These might include:

• additional excursions and incursions (more than 1)
• buses and swimming carnivals and sports carnivals
• school camps
• representative sport 

School begins at 8:30 a.m. – supervision from 8:00 a.m.  The school day concludes at 2:45 p.m. and parents are expected to collect their children as soon as possible after this time.

There is one bus service operated by Busways, subsidised by the Government.  The buses travel through various suburbs within the Cambpelltown Area.  Free travel is available to the children in K-Yr 2, and for children in Years 3-6 who live 1.6km or more from the school.  Contact the School or Busways on 4647 7785 or www.busways.com.au

There are many opportunities for your child to become involved in extra-curricular activities; St Thomas More has representative teams in swimming, athletics, cross country, soccer, rugby league, basketball, netball and cricket.  Children also have the opportunity to try out for MacKillop (Diocesan representative) teams in several different sports.  St Thomas More is involved in public speaking.   We are also involved in a Seasons for Growth Program (grief counseling for children who have experienced change in their family through divorce, separation or death etc) and have a CatholicCare Counsellor who attends our school once per week to cater for children who require Counselling.  We have a Year 6 Leadership Team which consists of children being involved in an RE Team, Environmental Team, Playground Helpers Team, Canteen Team, Discovery Centre Team, Creative Arts Team, Sport Team, a school choir, and a gifted and talented group.  A Music Bus attends the school each week to teach the children how to play instruments such as keyboard, drums and guitar.  St Thomas More has competed in Wakakirri and only last year were finalists in the Story-Dance section.

No, we do not have organised after school care facilities.  There are several child care centres in our area that provide before and after school care with pick up and drop off available to and from our school.

Yes, our canteen is a healthy canteen and follows the guidelines of the NSW School Healthy Canteen Association.  It provides enjoyable, nutritious and attractively presented food, supporting the children with practical learning experiences about making healthy food choices.  We have a nut-free policy at St Thomas More, as some children suffer severe allergies to peanuts and nut products.

St Thomas More does not have a Church on site, we often celebrate liturgies, and occasionally Masses, in our school hall, marking feast days and other special events in the church and school year.  For example liturgies would be celebrated for Ash Wednesday and Holy Week.  Each grade attends Mass at Ruse Parish travelling by Bus, once per term.  Children can become significantly involved in the celebrations through choir, liturgical dance/drama, reading or altar serving. 

Each Stage has access to Ipads, laptop computers, data projectors, printers, video cameras and cameras which are available to classes.  All Year levels have the use of a Smartboard (interactive whiteboard) in the classrooms to create a more technology-focused learning.
